Review: An Affair in Winter by Jess Michaels
Print Length: 215 pages
Publisher: The Passionate Pen (July 12, 2016)
From Goodreads.com: Widow Rosalinde Wilde is on her way to her beloved sister’s wedding when an unexpected storm waylays her at an overcrowded inn. There she meets a tempting stranger who sweeps her into a night of unforgettable passion.
Grayson Danford never expected a night with the irresistible Mrs. Wilde, but she was a welcome distraction from the unpleasant duty of breaking up his brother’s impending nuptials. He’s shocked when he discovers his passionate lover is none other than the sister of his brother's intended.
Now Rosalinde and Gray will butt heads, even as their simmering desire for each other threatens to boil over. Who will win? And who might lose it all?

My Rating: 4 stars out of 5
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author has a smooth writing style which draws the reader in and allows them not only to picture the scenes as they are taking place, but to become invested in the characters as well. I loved seeing these two characters not only follow their mutual passions, but also be tossed into a situation that neither of them expected (or really knew how to deal with). They each had reasons why they felt a union between their siblings was a good (or bad) idea, so to watch them try to find their way around the "elephant in the room" so to speak was very enjoyable. I think one of my favorite parts of this story was how everything was resolved in the end. I felt that each character acted in a mature fashion that showcased not only the author's ability to bring closure to a story - but also in a fashion that left the reader satisfied.
